Higgsfield Alternatives for AI Video

By Mika ReyesPublished 8 min read

The short answer

The main Higgsfield alternatives are Runway, Kling AI, Google Flow, Krea, Hedra, Magnific (formerly Freepik), LTX Studio, and Luma. They differ most on three things: whether unused credits roll over, whether the entry plan allows commercial use, and whether there's an API. Kling and Runway sell their own models; Krea, Hedra, and Magnific bundle many models like Higgsfield does.

The main Higgsfield alternatives are Runway, Kling AI, Google Flow, Krea, Hedra, Magnific, LTX Studio, and Luma. This list is for founders and teams who use AI video at work and are comparing tools. It compares them on what a team actually pays for: the entry price, what happens to unused credits, whether the entry plan allows commercial use, and whether there's an API. Every price was checked against each tool's own pricing page in October 2026.

What does Higgsfield actually include?

Higgsfield's pricing page, showing the Starter, Plus, Ultra, and Teams plans

Higgsfield is a model aggregator. One subscription gives you Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Wan, Hailuo, Grok Video, and Higgsfield's own models, so you don't need an account with each lab. That breadth is Higgsfield's selling point, and it's what every alternative below gets measured against.

  • Plans. Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits. Plus is $59 a month ($47 billed annually) for 1,200 credits, and Ultra is $129 ($99 annually).
  • Credits. Subscription credits expire at the end of each cycle, and add-on credits expire after 90 days.
  • "Unlimited". Plus and Ultra include unlimited generations on selected models for limited windows (7 days on most plans). Unlimited generations run in the standard queue and only on higgsfield.ai, not through the MCP server or CLI.
  • Commercial use. Included on paid plans, not on the free plan.
  • API. A pay-per-generation API, billed separately from the plans, plus an MCP server.

Teams that look elsewhere usually mention cost per generation or credits that expire before they're used.

How did we evaluate these?

Every entry answers the same questions:

  • What it is. A model lab selling its own models, or an aggregator selling many.
  • Entry paid plan. The cheapest plan that generates video, billed monthly and annually.
  • Unused credits. Whether plan credits roll over, and how long purchased credits last.
  • Commercial use. Whether the entry plan allows it.
  • API. Whether you can call it from your own product.

1. Runway: a model lab with its own editing model

Runway's homepage, with the headline "Intelligent tools for scaling content and teams"

Runway builds its own video models (Gen-4.5 and the Aleph 2.0 editing model) and also offers Kling 4.0 and Seedance 2.0 Pro inside the app.

  • Pricing. Standard is $15 a month or $12 billed annually, for 625 credits. Gen-4.5 costs 12 credits a second. Pro is $35 and Max is $95.
  • Credits. Plan credits don't roll over on Standard or Pro. Max rolls over for up to a month, and credits you buy separately never expire.
  • Free tier. 125 one-time credits.
  • API. Yes, through the Runway API, which also resells Veo, Kling, and Seedance.
  • Fits. Teams whose bottleneck is control: editing existing footage, and getting consistent shots.

2. Kling AI: the newest Kling, at the lowest monthly price on this list

Kling AI's homepage announcing Kling 4.0

Kling AI is the app for Kuaishou's Kling models, including Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0 Omni, and Motion Control. Higgsfield offers Kling too, so this is the same model family, bought direct.

  • Pricing. Standard is $8.80 a month on auto-renew ($10 list, $79.20 a year), for 660 credits.
  • Credits. Subscription credits are valid for one month. Credits you buy separately last two years.
  • Commercial use. Yes on Standard, not on the free Basic plan.
  • API. Yes, on the Kling developer platform, priced separately.
  • Fits. Teams that mostly use Kling inside Higgsfield and want the newest Kling version at a lower monthly cost.

3. Google Flow: Veo with a daily free allowance

Google Flow's homepage

Google Flow is Google's AI filmmaking app, built on Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash, and included with Google AI plans.

  • Pricing. Google AI Pro is $19.99 a month and includes 1,000 Flow credits. AI Ultra starts at $99.99.
  • Free tier. 50 Flow credits a day for everyone. A Veo 3.1 Fast video costs 20 credits and a Quality video costs 100.
  • Credits. Daily and monthly Flow credits don't roll over. Non-subscribers may be blocked from video at peak hours.
  • API. Not inside Flow. Developers use Veo 3.1 on Google Cloud, or Gemini Omni Flash on the Gemini API.
  • Fits. Teams that already pay for Google AI plans and want Veo without another subscription.

4. Krea: many models, the cheapest paid entry

Krea's app home screen

Krea is an aggregator like Higgsfield, with Seedance 2 and 2.5, Kling, Wan, Hailuo, Runway, and LTX-2 inside one canvas, plus image, upscaling, and real-time tools.

  • Pricing. Basic is $9 a month or $5 billed annually, for 5,000 units. Pro is $35 ($21 annually).
  • Free tier. 100 units a day.
  • Credits. Monthly units don't roll over.
  • Commercial use. Yes on Basic, not on the free plan.
  • API. Yes, with separate API pricing.
  • Fits. Teams that like Higgsfield's breadth and want a lower entry price.

5. Hedra: an aggregator where bought credit packs never expire

Hedra's homepage

Hedra started with character-led talking video and now offers 52 models, including Seedance 2.5, Kling V3, MiniMax H3, Wan 3.0, and Gemini Omni Flash.

  • Pricing. Basic is $20 a month for 2,000 credits. Pro is $50.
  • Credits. Plan credits don't carry over, but credit packs you buy never expire.
  • Commercial use. Yes, on all plans.
  • API. Yes, a prepaid usage API.
  • Fits. Teams with uneven monthly output, who can buy packs instead of a bigger plan.

6. Magnific: credits that last a year

Magnific's homepage, noting that Freepik is now Magnific

Magnific is the new name for Freepik's AI suite. It bundles Kling 4.0, Veo 3.1 at 4K, Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, and Gemini Omni with image, upscaling, and stock tools.

  • Pricing. Premium is $20 a month or $14.50 billed annually. Premium+ is $45.
  • Credits. Valid for one year, with no monthly resets. This is the clearest difference from Higgsfield's per-cycle expiry.
  • Commercial use. Yes, with a commercial AI license.
  • API. Yes, credit-based, on all plans.
  • Fits. Teams that produce in bursts, such as campaigns or launches, and lose credits to monthly resets today.

7. LTX Studio: storyboard-first production

LTX's homepage, "Video creation for filmmakers, advertisers, and creative teams"

LTX Studio is built around LTX's own LTX-2.5 model, with a storyboard-to-video workflow. Higher plans add Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0, and Veo 3.1.

  • Pricing. Lite is $15 a month or $12 billed annually, for 8,000 credits.
  • Commercial use. Not on Lite. The commercial license starts at Standard, $35 a month ($28 annually).

Luma's homepage

Luma builds the Ray models. Ray3.2 is the current one, with start, end, and keyframe control, and HDR export.

  • Pricing. Plus is $30 a month or $25 billed annually, for 10,000 credits. Pro is $90.
  • Credits. Monthly credits don't roll over. Top-up credits last 12 months.
  • Commercial use. Yes on Plus.
  • API. Yes, the Ray3.2 API.
  • Fits. Teams that need keyframe control or HDR footage for post-production.

Can I use Kling or Seedance without Higgsfield?

Yes. Kling and Seedance are sold direct by the companies that build them. Kling AI sells Kling in its own app and on its developer API. ByteDance sells Seedance to developers through BytePlus ModelArk. Veo is available from Google in Flow, on Google Cloud, and (as Gemini Omni Flash) on the Gemini API.

Going direct usually gets you the newest version first. What you give up is switching between models with one balance. That convenience is what Higgsfield, Krea, Hedra, and Magnific charge for.

Mike "OverJK" Owerczuk, an AI filmmaker with more than 15 years in film, games, and AI, told the Vibedex AI Filmmaking Report:

"Treat AI models like actual models. Each has its own personality, strengths and quirks."

For a team, that means a single-model app is fine if one model suits your style. If you switch models from shot to shot, an aggregator earns its price.

How to choose

  • Credits expire before you use them: Magnific (one-year credits) or Hedra (packs never expire).
  • Lowest monthly cost: Krea Basic or Kling Standard.
  • The newest Kling, direct: Kling AI.
  • Editing and shot control: Runway.
  • Veo without a new subscription: Google Flow, if you already have a Google AI plan.
  • Storyboards and ads: LTX Studio, on Standard or higher for commercial use.
  • Keyframes and HDR: Luma.
  • You're building a product, not making videos by hand: use the model APIs directly. Our guide to AI video generation APIs compares them on cost per clip.

What happens after you generate the video?

Every tool on this list ends with a downloaded file. If you're building a product that generates video for your own users, the next step is publishing it to their TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts. That step needs each platform's posting API and review.

That's what Adeli, the company behind this blog, does. Adeli is a social media posting API: it publishes the video your product made to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube in one request, and it doesn't generate video itself. See how it works for AI content generation tools.

Frequently asked questions

Do Higgsfield credits roll over?

No. Higgsfield's pricing FAQ says subscription credits don't roll over and expire at the end of each credit cycle, and its terms say add-on credits expire after 90 days. Magnific is the clearest contrast: its credits stay valid for a year with no monthly reset.

What's the cheapest Higgsfield alternative?

For a paid plan, Krea Basic costs $5 a month billed annually ($9 monthly), and Kling Standard costs $8.80 a month on auto-renew. Both allow commercial use. Google Flow gives everyone 50 free Flow credits a day, and Krea's free plan gives 100 units a day.

Does Higgsfield have an API?

Yes. The Higgsfield API is pay per generation from a prepaid balance with a $5 minimum top-up, separate from the subscription plans, and it refunds failed generations. Higgsfield also offers an MCP server and a CLI.

Is Sora still an alternative to Higgsfield?

No. OpenAI closed the Sora app on April 26, 2026 and shut down the Sora API on September 24, 2026. Lists that still recommend Sora predate the shutdown.
